What are your thoughts product wise for a vintage Vette, I have a 75. Primer brand- I am thinking slick sand from Evercoat primer- House of Kolor 2 stage, PPG, Sikkens, exc... Thank you.

Depends on the clear coat you’re using . And how fressh the clear coat is . I’m very hesitant using 2000 it creates swirl marks, even hitting it with 3000 . Heavy RPM on your white pad, heat it up faster

You will LOVE the 923-460 clear dude. It’s the best I’ve ever sprayed. The absolute best there is no comparison

so thats when you have no color code got it. for a normal color that you have a code and put in and use Prime and test it out but is not close what do you if your at home. because we dont have color chips. now lets say i did have them and none of them work do i use the camera as my last resort

Thats nice im going for a satin black on my Ford wagon is it best to use a reg base coat black with satin clear or one of the 2k satin hot rod blacks with no clear since its like a single stage

Just the video I was looking for. I left a fender that had fresh epoxy primer on it outside that didn't have time to cure and it got rained on. The next morning it has rust spots on it. I had to completely sand it down to bare metal and use Eastwood Fast Etch to get rid of the surface rust. Working under a 10' x 10' Harbor Freight canope. Have a 10' x 10' cloth side wall on order from Temu to block out the late afternoon sun.

If you can what clear do you recommend for a restoration car project ? Thank you

Are there ever instances when a roof needs to be cut off & replaced instead of doing PDR work? We have a 2014 Ram 2500 that got hit with up to golf ball size hail. There might be 10 dents on the roof. It doesn’t look too bad to me, but our insurance put in our estimate for the roof to be replaced using one from a junk yard. I don’t like the sound of that. Seems like it won’t be as structurally sound.

At 7:50 you say the other cap puts it down slicker than the dvr clear, what cap is that mate? Which cap puts it down like glass? I assumed it would be the dvr clear but obviously not

What is a wet bed? Do you mean with clear base? And was the wet bed across the entire panel?

If you have big hits do you do the metal work first? Or do you prime and then do the body work , thats what doesn’t makes sense to me because to take out the big hits you need to go to bare metal again in order to pull the hits out

Good luck with that BASF. I used their lines and I am sticking with PPG. Just my experience.

Can you believe some shops use shopline or Omni if you put that on my car I will sue you and probably try to fight you my car or vehicle would never get repairs where they use paint that peels off in like 4 years

Good luck. I don't think I could ever work for a corporate body shop. I had a hard enough time working in a mom and pop 20 years ago. They didn't do things correctly, and these large MSO's are all about money.

Good luck with the new organization! I know Florida is hot and humid. I used to live in Minnesota which is similar in the summer but now I live in hot and dry Idaho. I had an issue with one brand of urethane not setting up in the dry heat as quick as you would have expected and the result was sags. A little research found that a factory in England was experiencing a similar issue in the dry winter where the only difference was low humidity so they added a humidifier to the booth. I have never used BASF but when talking to a local dealer, I told them the humidity story and he said BASF actually has an additive for low humidity conditions. Based on that, I think you will be happy with the line. Looking forward to how it goes.

Dude! Thats pretty wild man! Hope everything goes well, right now we are actually in discussions at my shop with BASF and PPG, we are using Envirobase but our contract is ending and we are considering the 100 line also, BASF boys are gonna come out for a week and let us try it out. So please by all means!, let us know your honest opinion on the paint lines.

Can’t stress a respirator enough! Stupid me went for years trimming out parts and doing bodywork without anything ! Lungs are screwed now! Does this unit have tearoffs on the face or could i use denatured alcohol to clean overspray off? Also has anyone used it for sanding filler and etc? Had cataract surgery recently and want to keep out the dust from getting in my eyes.

I was used to using the newest Sata for clearcoat, but that new Iwata really lays everything down well

PPG = Painters Prefer Glasurit. Seriously though, good luck through the Crash transition. This is only going to make your 'stock' as a painter increase. 100-Line is the latest/greatest and there is NO stopping it.
